Many owners think that they can do our job. You may think that the prep, repairs, and painting of a West Philadelphia house is manageable. So, you buy some tools, get started, do a little at a time, and 3 years go by before hiring the professional that you need to get it done correctly.
Several things were happening in this room. The previous owner painted the ceiling with a semi-gloss white, which is fine if you want to see all of the imperfections and cracks in the ceiling. The new owners (of 3 years) closed off a doorway and added this gorgeous transom window, but they did not know how to mud well. So, we painted the ceilings with the standard ultra flat white ceiling paint, walls were Peacock Plume, and the trim became Hazel Gaze.
There was quite a bit of repair to complete in the hallway, as well. I have 3 different photos of this work to show all of the persectives. We used Honied White on the walls and Haze Gaze again on all of the woodwork. Take a look at the many drywall patches done on this wall in the 3rd photo. Instead of using multiple short bits of tape for all of the seams, we used a wide piece of tape and covered them all at once. It's solid now!
The middle bedroom had an intense amount of work, as well. We finished it with Intricate Ivory on the walls and Creamy on the trim.
The rear bedroom required the least amount of work, but we were still in there for 3 days to get it all done. The walls got Lime Granita and the trim became Roman Column.
We also repaired and painted the stairwells and the entire 1st floor, except the kitchen. We were in this house for over 2 weeks. After moving all of their furniture around, sleeping in different rooms, and working from home, the owners were very happy that we were done.
