Things that happened in 1986 include the last time Haley’s Comet appeared, Top Gun premiered, Lindsay Lohan was born, Chicago Bears won the Superbowl, Mike Tyson won his first boxing title, and this room was decorated.
There was a drop ceiling, an old rug, wallpaper that had been painted over, and years of neglected water damaged areas. It was time to do something about it.
So, we started by removing the drop ceiling and the wallpaper. This revealed the true condition of the room.
So, we moved forward according to plan. We laminated the ceiling with 3/8″ drywall, skim coated the walls to smooth them out, then applied multiple tubes of caulk and a small tub of wood filler. Then we painted everything.
30 years is a long time, and I know that the homeowners fully appreciated what we did here.
