I painted an apartment for these folks several years ago, and they contacted me again when they bought this house. I truly appreciate repeat business, because it means that I have built trust in our work. This house is on a quiet little street next to a church in the Fairmount neighborhood. The only problem with it was the bold and glossy colors that the previous owners used. So, I was brought in to bring it to a different person’s taste. I told them and I’ll tell you. I don’t care what what color you choose for your house. It all goes on the same. Well…we had to prime all of these walls prior to painting just to give it a clean slate. See below.
The living room was a very glossy yellow that we made into Country Squire after removing the TV rack and some holes in the wall
They changed the kitchen from red to one of my favorite blues, Anchors Aweigh.
All of the hallways were a bright shiny yellow that they toned down with Proper Gray, another one of my favorites.
Two of the bedrooms went to Jade Dragon. I never used this color before, and I like it.
They chose the dark teal, Cascades, for their master bedroom
Both bathrooms became the off-white, Fleur De Sel, which I wish was more popular. It’s just a very nice gray tone.
We also painted some of the ceilings and all of the trim and doors Westhighland White. I didn’t believe that all of the wall colors would work with this trim color, but it all fit in the same palate. Some people are easily able to make this work. Others go crazy trying to find the perfect white and use that one color in their entire house. I am not a color consultant and I don’t judge. However, I know when it works, and this one was a wonderful transformation.
