After the Electricians

I first saw this Powelton Village house shortly after the current owners purchased it. I learned that their electricians had to re-wire the entire house because of the knob & tube wiring. Our job was to repair the holes and paint the entire 3500 sq ft house. Based on my experience dealing with this work before, I assumed a moderate amount of holes to repair and budgeted accordingly. We did not expect that this group of electricians would use hammers and pry bars to unnecessarily, carelessly, and haphazardly tear the plaster and lath all over this house to explore and fish new wires. In my opinion, they disrespected this house built in 1865.

Fortunately, my team knew how to handle this work, and we did so diligently. After completing the repairs we used Snowbound in a matte finish for the walls and semi-gloss for the woodwork throughout the house. Take a look at the transformation below.
